The Stokehouse ft. Ellie’s

One of the summer’s most irresistible collaborations saw St Kilda institution Stokehouse join forces with chef Ellie Bouhadana (formerly of Hope St Radio) for a pop-up highlighting Ellie’s breezy, coastal-inspired take on North African and Mediterranean cooking. Taking over Stokehouse’s boardwalk kiosk Beach Box, Ellie’s Kiosk at Stokehouse became one of the holiday season’s hottest tickets.

It’s easy to understand why, with a menu of grilled seafood and classic dishes like fritto misto paired with a short, sharp drinks list of gluggable, summer-friendly tipples from natural wine to classic cocktails. Everything was available for takeaway too, a small detail that made a big difference when queues stretched down the boardwalk.

KDPO was thrilled to promote the partnership and see it take on a life of its own on socials, driven in part by Ellie’s decision to only open when the sun was shining. Each day’s will-she, won’t-she Instagram announcement became part of the theatre, helping earn coverage in Broadsheet, The Age Good Food, Herald Sun and delicious, among others.
