Hotel Sorrento: End of the Beginning

After five years of careful evolution, Hotel Sorrento completed its transformation from Peninsula institution to world-class boutique resort in December. KDPO has worked alongside the Pitt family for the past three years, watching each chapter unfold.

We’ve had front row seats to the previous transformations which have included luxury accommodation and a pool, spa and wellness centre. That made us well placed to get the word out about the final stages that have brought the transformation to a brilliant conclusion.

These included the hotel’s new Lobby Bar, designed by Six Degrees Architects and inspired by iconic venues like The Connaught in London and The Bowery Hotel in New York with marble, travertine and leather finishes. A  multi-use terrace with sea views, state-of-the-art conference and event facilities, eight luxury suites and a limited-edition collaboration with lifestyle brand Venroy (including co-branded hats, towels and beach bags available exclusively to in-house guests) rounded out the offering.

With a strategy that included hosted stays for key media and creators, KDPO secured coverage in Escape, Herald Sun and Concrete Playground with more coverage on the way in the coming months. A long project, beautifully resolved.
