A Big Cheer for Barragunda

As unashamed pom-pom-waving champions of Victoria’s amazing food scene, KDPO was thrilled to help launch a truly standout restaurant, the intimate 40-seat Barragunda Dining in Cape Schanck on the Mornington Peninsula.

A collaboration between food system advocate Hayley Morris and farmer/chef Simone Watts, the project champions the produce grown on the sprawling 1000-acre Barragunda Estate and adds an ethical, low-waste ethos to boot. It’s a new paradigm of authentic, locavore dining.

You’ve probably already seen the rave reviews. But before those came KDPO’s media campaign, which attracted a wide range of coverage in elite publications including The Age Good FoodAFR, delicious, Gourmet Traveller, Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, Broadsheet, Tourism Australia and Urban List.

There was also a well-attended preview lunch which gave Melbourne-based food and lifestyle media the opportunity to directly engage with Simone and Hayley, both at the table and on a tour of the restaurant’s remarkably productive gardens.

Do yourself a favour and make the trip yourself. Barragunda Dining has been four years in the making but it was well worth the wait.
