Can it really be 15 years since Mamasita took Melbourne by storm, bringing its high-energy Mexican flair to the top end of Collins Street? That’s an impressive stretch of time to be a leader in the hospitality field, so KDPO was thrilled to come on board with celebrating the iconic venue’s milestone birthday in February.
When it opened in 2010, Mamasita immediately made its mark with its super fun vibe and easy approachability – not to mention its great drinks and food. None of that has changed under the guardianship of owner Joss Jenner-Leuthart, who took over in 2023. With the help of KDPO, he and the Mamasita team decided on an access-all-areas approach to cast a light on the Mamasita mysteries.
A limited-edition series of Taco and Margarita Masterclasses across the month of February meant that, for the first time, fans had the opportunity to get behind the scenes and learn from the best in the business, and raise a tequila toast to one of the city’s most enduring dining rooms.
That’s not all. Designed to reintroduce key media contacts and industry figures to Mamasita, KDPO’s 15th-anniversary media dinner showcased Mamasita’s refreshed offering and interiors. A fabulous event secured attendance from top-tier media, industry contacts and key opinion leaders.
