It’s always exciting when Shane Delia embarks on a new project. Melbourne’s king of Middle Eastern food launched his cocktail bar Jayda in November, and the latest addition to his incredible restaurant and bar portfolio is a stunning exercise in art deco-leaning glamour, with a black marble-topped curved green bar and high-top seating in the front room leading to a sophisticated salon accessed through an archway.
Named after his daughter, the 60-seat modern Middle Eastern-accented cocktail bar in Melbourne’s CBD, right next door to his flagship Maha restaurant, operates both as a holding area for Maha diners and a destination for cocktail aficionados.
An amazing drinks list includes early favourites, the olive oil martini and strawberry and yoghurt Negroni, while a sweet and savoury Middle Eastern-influenced snack menu – set out under headings ‘Raw’, ‘Snacks’, ‘More’, ‘Sweet’ and ‘Cheese’ – is another reason to step inside.
KDPO loved coming on board to help launch Jayda with a multi-faceted campaign that included media exclusives and specially curated events that attracted coverage across major publications, including Gourmet Traveller, Delicious, The Age Good Food, Herald Sun, Broadsheet, Urban List, Time Out and Concrete Playground.
