Our daily bread (etcetera)

When the team behind glam-fab venues Riserva, Baia Di Vino and Lucia decide to add to their stable, you know it’s going to nail its KPIs.

And Breadcetera certainly delivers. This grocer brings Malvern East the kind of one-stop shop that any self-respecting suburb would be proud to call its own: think top notch coffee, freshly baked bread, floral arrangements and premium pantry staples that add a little luxe to the everyday.

Step inside the cheery yellow shopfront on Wattletree Road to discover an inviting space with interiors by Mitchell & Eades. Inspired by classic European market culture, the custom timber joinery, terrazzo floors and fluted glass panels feel like they could have been here for half a century instead of a single month.

Locals have embraced the fluidity of this expert operation, starting their day with Allpress coffee and egg-and-bacon English muffins and moving onto sandwiches, toasties, salads and take-home meals by Riserva’s head chefs Gabriele Garro and Dino Mohsin for lunch. And it’s always the right time of day for baked treats like miso caramel escargots, almond croissants and ruby grapefruit croustades.

But wait there’s more: small-batch aperitifs, boutique liqueurs, homewares from Maison Balzac and Robert Gordon and gelato. Breadcetera even has a wrapping station for last-minute gifts.

KDPO led the Breadcetera PR charge, with highlights including a first run exclusive with Good Food and an upcoming feature in Good Weekend. Welcome to the neighbourhood.
