Has it really been that long? June saw us wondering where the past 15 years had gone when Shane Delia’s acclaimed Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurant Maha celebrated its significant birthday (answer: the past decade and a half disappeared in a delicious whirl of silken hummus, fall-apart lamb shoulder and pomegranate-spike cocktails).
Since opening its doors in 2008, Maha has become one of Melbourne’s most beloved culinary destinations. Its accolades and awards are too numerous to mention, but being named as one of Australia’s Top 100 Restaurants is definitely up there.
And that meant a mega-party was in order, which KDPO was delighted to help put together alongside Shane’s team. It was one huge bash with over 100 of Shane’s nearest and dearest, a red-carpet extravaganza of fire spinners and live music, cocktails at Maha’s neighbouring bar Jayda and dinner at Maha featuring 15 of its greatest hits from the last 15 years, all paying homage to the restaurant’s unique blend of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
A comprehensive media strategy reaped the rewards of a cover story in the Herald Sun’s V Weekend, time on 3AW Breakfast and ABC 774 Drive and a story in Broadsheet, just to name a few. We look forward to celebrating the next 15 years in due course!
